“We are a family of four and would highly recommend The Nutcracker. Ellen and Andrew (and family) were so welcoming and Peter had great comms throughout our stay. We loved that there's only four rooms (two bunk beds in each room) so the communal kitchen and living areas never felt overcrowded. A rustic feel, very clean, good heating and the beds were ever so comfy! An easy walk down the hill to the village, or there's a free shuttle bus only a few minutes away.”

“A warm, clean, and family-friendly stay with plenty of space — highly recommended
We had a wonderful stay at The Nutcracker! It was perfect for our family of four (2 adults and 2 children). The space was clean, warm, and very welcoming — everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing getaway. There was plenty of room for all of us, and it truly felt like a home away from home. The family-friendly environment made it easy to unwind and enjoy quality time together. We would absolutely recommend The Nutcracker to others and would love to stay again in the future! Everything was just right — no complaints at all.”

“Location was great, the house was very cosy and the rooms were compact yet still had enough room for four people. Ellen was really helpful and welcoming throughout the whole experience, Ellen also provided us with a good view on what to do during our stay at Mt. Buller. Peter is helpful, texting all the information asked even on weekends. Will definitely visit next year. Room was a little compact, but for the price was very reasonable.”

With over 60 years of history on the mountain, Nutcracker has maintained its reputation to be a rustic and family friendly club.

We take pride in our lodge and whilst it is basic, it is clean, warm and functional. Our club is about enjoying the “shared experience” and we therefore do require our members and guests to always co-operate and show patience and understanding.
