Nutcracker is one of Mt Bullers’ hidden secrets. Come and see why?

A members’ ski club that gives its members and guests the opportunity to experience traditional lodge membership, while offering non members some limited capacity and the opportunity to experience our lodge via Airbnb and Buller Holidays.

We take pride in our club and whilst it is basic, it is always clean, warm and functional.

The club is operated and self managed by its members, and aims to always have a member on site as duty manager.

Our facilities are shared and we encourage all our members and guests to cooperate with each other in all aspects of club life. It is a non-smoking lodge. Smoking is not permitted in any room of the club, and strictly no pets are allowed.

For the safety of our members and guests we always strictly follow and adhere to the governing rules regarding CV19 Policy. When required we reserve the right to check individuals on our site prior to entry if necessary. This policy is also subject to further change.

Located at 6 Goal Post Road on Mt Buller.

It’s only a brief 10 minute walk into the village with free village bus stop is nearby.

Getting there from Mansfield.

From Mansfield go east along the main street and follow the signs to Mt Buller You will drive through Merrijig, Sawmill Settlement and Merimbah.

At Merimbah you can park your car before going through the gate to the Resort and catch a Mansfield - Mt Buller Busline Bus.

Alternatively, you can pay the entrance fee and continue up the Mt Buller road until instructed to park. Chains must be carried at all times regardless of the weather conditions. After you have parked your car you can catch a 4WD taxi to Nutcracker Lodge.

A free village shuttle bus circulates around the Village and operates in winter season months only.

Bus Stop no. 6 is located approx 50 metres from the Lodge entry.

To get most value out of your stay at Nutcracker Ski Club, you may arrive in the morning of your first day and leave in the afternoon of your last day.

However, we strictly ask that you vacate your room by 10am, and store your bags in our undercover cage storage area at the entrance. If you wish to arrive early, bags can also be stored in the cage. Strictly no bags and ski covers are allowed inside the club building. You are able to use the bathrooms to get changed before you head out for a days skiing. You will be able to check into your room by 5.00pm and you can see which room you are in by checking on the whiteboard on the drying room door.

Whilst we take pride in our in family friendly atmosphere we still recommend that all valuables and cash are kept on you as we cannot guarantee the security in the building.

What to bring

Pillows, doonas and blankets are provided. Linen and Towels are included in your the nightly room rate. Please ensure you have fresh linen on your bed as we require this for Health and Safety reasons. Speak to one of the members or the on site duty manager if you are not sure. If you intend to cook please bring all your own food and drinks requirements. There is room for your skis and snow boards and we also have a very effective drying room. If you need to hire gear we can organise that through Georges Ski Hire in the village. You will receive a discount if you mention that you are staying at Nutcracker.

At Merimbah you can park your car before going through the gate to the Resort and catch a Mansfield - Mt Buller Buslines bus, or you can pay the entrance fee and continue up the Mt Buller road until instructed to park in the resort car parks. (You must carry snow chains at all times).

Note: Members and Guests can make their way to Nutcracker by taking the Mt Buller Taxis from the car parks on the mountain. We suggest always booking a return trip for your departure.

Note: No parking in the Buller village or outside our lodge is allowed without an authorised pass from the Resort Management. (This is restriced and usually reserved for employees and club administrators only)
